Breaking the Cycle of Father Absence
At Man 2 Man, based in Oakland, CA, and serving Northern California, we are transforming families and communities by addressing the root causes of father absence. Our mission is to empower fathers and young men with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive, reunite with their families, and break the cycle of adversity.
Our Commitment to Families
We work in and out of prisons with justice-impacted fathers and their families, addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term success. Through our Last Time In program, we provide critical resources such as housing, employment, and mental health support upon release. But our work doesn’t stop there—we stay with fathers and their families, offering mentorship, life skills training, and community support to ensure they continue to succeed.
Building Stronger Foundations
Our programs are rooted in decades of evidence-based research and informed by lived experiences. We design customized Fatherhood and Life Skills curriculums that focus on:
- Reducing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to foster healthier family dynamics.
- Strengthening family bonds through education, mentorship, and support.
- Promoting self-actualization and healing to create a foundation for lasting change.
Rebuilding Communities: From Neighborhoods to Nations
Our vision goes beyond families—we aim to rebuild stronger communities. By empowering fathers to lead and thrive, we are creating ripple effects that strengthen neighborhoods, transform cities, and inspire change on a larger scale.
Comprehensive Support for Lasting Change
Since 2016, Man 2 Man has provided wraparound services through key partnerships, including:
- Fatherhood education to prepare men to be active, present, and consistent parents.
- Life skills development for better decision-making and self-sufficiency.
- Job readiness and placement to support economic stability.
- Mentorship and community connections to foster a sense of belonging and accountability.
Join Us in Strengthening Families and Communities
Man 2 Man is more than a program—it’s a movement to create lasting systemic change. Together, we can build a future where fathers are present, families are whole, and communities thrive.
