This elegant event will celebrate the essential role of fathers in strengthening families and reducing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), while raising critical funds for programs like Last Time In, a reentry initiative with a zero-recidivism rate.

A Story of Transformation: Wayne Boatwright’s Journey
The evening will highlight stories of resilience and transformation, including that of Wayne Boatwright, a former San Quentin inmate who found hope and healing through Man 2 Man’s programs.
“Man 2 Man gave me the tools to reconnect with my children and rebuild my life,” Wayne shared. “Now, I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s transforming lives and breaking cycles of adversity.”

Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate Signs Enhanced Care Management Agreement with Partnership HealthPlan of California
Expanding Support for Justice-Impacted Fathers and Families in Seven Northern California Counties
Oakland, CA – January 19, 2025 – Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate (M2M-UYA) is pleased to announce the signing of an Enhanced Care Management (ECM) Provider Services Agreement with Partnership HealthPlan of California. This strategic partnership aims to deliver comprehensive care management services to Medi-Cal members, focusing on justice-impacted fathers and families in Butte, Lassen, Marin, Mendocino, Modoc, Solano, and Sonoma counties.
The ECM program offers a whole-person, interdisciplinary approach to care, addressing both clinical and non-clinical needs of high-need Medi-Cal members, particularly those transitioning from incarceration. This collaboration enhances Man 2 Man’s mission to reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), support family reunification, and break cycles of adversity by providing critical health and social services.
“This agreement marks a significant milestone for our organization and the communities we serve,” said Stewart Perrilliat, Executive Director of Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate. “By partnering with Partnership HealthPlan, we can offer justice-impacted fathers the comprehensive care they need to rebuild their lives, strengthen family bonds, and become pillars in their communities.”
Empowering Fathers Through Comprehensive Care
As an ECM Provider, Man 2 Man will offer a range of services, including:
- Comprehensive Assessments & Care Management Plans tailored to individual needs.
- Health Promotion and education to encourage healthier lifestyles.
- Transitional Care Support for individuals reentering society from incarceration.
- Coordination of Community & Social Support Services to address housing, employment, and mental health needs.
These services will complement Man 2 Man’s existing programs like Last Time In, which has achieved a zero-recidivism rate by providing reentry support, life skills training, and fatherhood education.
Addressing the Root Causes of Family Disruption
The partnership with Partnership HealthPlan of California is part of Man 2 Man’s broader strategy to tackle the root causes of father absence and adverse childhood experiences. By integrating health care management with social and emotional support, the organization aims to create sustainable, systemic change across Northern California.

Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate Joins Forces with Maranatha Christian Center to Empower Justice-Impacted Fathers Through $2.2 Million HIRE Initiative Grant
Oakland, CA – Jan 8, 2024 – Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate (M2M-UYA), a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families through fatherhood education and support, is proud to announce its partnership with Maranatha Christian Center as a subcontractor in the Helping Justice-Involved Reenter Employment (HIRE) initiative. Funded by a $2.2 million grant from the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB), this collaboration will provide critical reentry support for justice-impacted individuals in Alameda and Santa Clara counties.
Since 2016, Man 2 Man has focused on addressing the root causes of father absence, offering programs that reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and promote family reunification. Through its flagship program, Last Time In, the organization has achieved a zero-recidivism rate, helping formerly incarcerated fathers reintegrate into their families and communities with the tools for lasting success.
“This grant allows us to expand our reach and deepen our impact,” said Stewart Perrilliat, Executive Director of Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate. “By providing fathers with education, life skills, and emotional support, we’re not just helping individuals—we’re transforming families and rebuilding communities.”
About the HIRE Initiative
The HIRE initiative is a statewide program designed to improve labor market outcomes for justice-involved individuals. Through partnerships with organizations like Maranatha Christian Center and Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate, the initiative provides:
- Employment Services: Job readiness training, placement support, and career advancement opportunities.
- Reentry Support: Housing, mental health resources, and mentorship for formerly incarcerated individuals.
- Life Skills Development: Evidence-based fatherhood education and programs aimed at reducing ACEs and strengthening family dynamics.
The initiative is part of a larger collaboration between the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the California Prison Industry Authority (CalPIA), aiming to reduce recidivism and foster sustainable, long-term success for justice-involved individuals.
