Solomon Belette
Solomon Belette currently serves as the Director of the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at John F. Kennedy University. Prior to this, he served as Director of Corporate and Community Relations. From 2005-2013, he was employed by Catholic Charities of the East Bay as Chief Executive Officer. He served the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as Western Regional Director for Migration and Refugee Services based in San Francisco, and as Assistant Director for Program Management Support, in Washington D.C.
Solomon studied at St. John’s University where he earned his bachelor degree in Sociology and pursued graduate studies at Michigan State University. He earned an MBA from John F. Kennedy University, an affiliate of the National University System.
Mr. Belette has extensive experience in nonprofit management and leadership from his experience as a nonprofit consultant, and serving on various BOD including the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy’s Advisory Council, FEMA, the Village Community Resource Center, and the East Bay Leadership Council.
Solomon has a deep commitment for community service and social justice and aspires to be transformational leader. He attributes this commitment to his faith, upbringing in Ethiopia, and the many people that have inspired and influenced his journey here in the United States.
